SHOGO ARSENAL FOR UNREAL TOURNAMENT 99
Version 0.13
============================================================

Bring the human and mech weapons from Shogo: Mobile Armor
Division into the original Unreal Tournament (1999).

This mod includes 18 weapons with Shogo models, arms, skins,
sounds and animations, adapted firing behavior, projectile
trails, impact effects and dynamic lighting. Damage is tuned
for UT99. One configurable mutator lets you choose your arsenal.

QUICK INSTALL - DRAG AND DROP
------------------------------------------------------------
1. Close Unreal Tournament.
2. Open this ZIP. Drag the System and Help folders into your
main UT99 folder -- the folder containing System, Maps and
Textures. There is no extra enclosing folder in the ZIP.
3. Merge the folders. If upgrading, replace the four existing
ShogoFoot/ShogoMech .u and .int files when prompted.
4. Start UT99. Go to Practice Session > Mutators and enable
"Shogo: Weapons". Remove any older Shogo selections from
   your active mutator list.
5. Open Mod > Shogo weapon settings to choose your options,
   then start your match.

The README can stay beside the ZIP or be copied into UT99 too.
Your existing game settings are retained. The mod saves its
own options in System\ShogoFoot.ini.

CHOOSE YOUR WEAPONS AND STARTING LOADOUT
------------------------------------------------------------
Open Mod > Shogo weapon settings:

Enable human weapons
Includes dual pistols, Shotgun, Machine Gun, Assault Rifle,
Energy Grenade, Kato Grenade, TOW, Tanto and Squeaky Toy.

Enable mech weapons
Includes Pulse Rifle, Laser Cannon, Spider, Bullgut, Sniper
Rifle, Juggernaut, Shredder, Red Riot and Beam Sword.

You can enable either family or both. At least one stays
selected. Both families are enabled by default.

Starting loadout: Pick up weapons on the map
Human-only: start with pistols and Tanto.
Mech-only: start with Pulse Rifle and Beam Sword.
Both: start with pistols, Tanto and Beam Sword.
Collect the other guns at normal UT weapon pickup locations.

Starting loadout: Start with all enabled weapons
  Human-only: nine starting weapons.
  Mech-only: eight starting weapons.
  Both: seventeen starting weapons.

Red Riot is always a pickup-only superweapon, including full
arsenal games. With mech weapons enabled, it replaces the
Redeemer on maps containing one. Human-only uses TOW there.

Starting weapons are granted on every respawn. Pistols are
selected when humans are enabled; mech-only selects Pulse
Rifle. When both families are enabled, the map contains both
weapon types and its ammo pickups support both families.

Weapon-family and starting-loadout changes apply when the
next match starts. Multiplayer games use the host's choices.

Press a number again to cycle weapons sharing that key.
Mouse wheel and next/previous weapon controls also work.

CONTROLS AND GAMEPLAY
------------------------------------------------------------
Primary fire shoots or attacks. Finite magazines reload
automatically while the normal UT99 ammo counter remains.

Assault Rifle: alternate fire toggles zoom. Zoomed primary
fire shoots a three-round burst.
Mech Sniper: alternate fire toggles zoom; zoomed shots use a
slower, more powerful single-shot mode.
Energy Grenade explodes on impact. Kato keeps bouncing until
it hits a player or its fuse expires. Spider mines attach to
surfaces and explode on a fuse. Bullgut fires scattered
four-rocket volleys. Beam Sword needs no ammo. The Squeaky Toy
is harmless. Fatal Kato/Red Riot hits use a fading yellow
death silhouette and a lingering floor imprint.

PERSONAL AND HOST SETTINGS
------------------------------------------------------------
UT99's Weapon Hand setting supports Right, Left, Center and
Hidden. In Mod > Shogo weapon settings you can also adjust:

Weapon forward/back, side placement and height
Scoped crosshair: original Shogo, contrast cross or dot
  Scoped crosshair size
  Kato bounce strength (host only)

Visual preferences are local. Kato bounce changes affect
newly fired grenades on the host. Enable UT99 decals to see
bullet holes, energy burns and explosion scorch marks.

MORE INFORMATION
------------------------------------------------------------
Requires the original Unreal Tournament (1999).
Engine validation used UT99 469f Preview. Other patches and
combinations with other weapon/HUD mods have not been validated.

The v0.13 code passed 773 headless engine checks. The current
third-person sizing has no fresh on-screen or multiplayer
client review. Full testing scope is in TEST-RESULTS.txt.

For dedicated-server setup, detailed behavior, credits and
uninstall instructions, see Help\ShogoFoot\MANUAL.txt after
installation. Clients and servers need matching mod versions.

To uninstall, close UT99 and remove these files from System:
  ShogoFoot.u ShogoFoot.int
  ShogoMech.u ShogoMech.int
Optional saved preferences remain in ShogoFoot.ini.
