-AlienMaleTaunts-

Author: Some unappreciated dude at Epic or Digital Extremes

Bringer of said pack to the public: Nick Porter (|iG|Vertigo/[FtUC]Vertigo ingame)
-Email/MSN: ig_lordvertigo@hotmail.com
-My totally non-Unreal-related-only-go-if-you're-really-bored-website: http://vertigian.freehomepage.com
-My wicked awesome clan (for whom I haven't so much as twitched my trigger-finger so far :P): [FtUC] http://www.ftuc.net/

Installation: Unzip the files to the UT2004 dir with Use Folder Names checked. If you feel like a leet haxxor (*winces*), AlienMaleTaunts.u and .int go into UT2004\System and if you want to save this readme (it might be worth something when I become the ruler of the universe, or even northern Berkhamsted), you might want to put it into UT2004\Help.

How to use: Go forth from the Settings menu to the screen of Player. Consult with the wise Voice Types selection, and from the list he gives you, point your pointy thing in the general direction of Alien Male 2.

Useful info: People won't be able to hear the voicepack unless they have it themselves. You could persuade your server of choice's host to push this voicepack if you really can't stand not hearing alien gurgly noises online. You can get your bots to use the voicepack, but it involves messing around with the .upls which can result in Trouble if you make a mistake.

Less useful info: As far as I know, this is the first voicepack made for UT2004. Yay for me! But only sort of, because this isn't actually my voicepack. It's made from an artefact that Epic decided not to include in the game (AlienMaleTaunts.uax in the UT2004/Sounds directory, for anyone who's interested), and therefore I'm not sure who exactly the credit for this goes to... I personally find it quite shibby, and certainly fits the Skaarj and particularly the Gen Mo'Kai a lot better than the Male Nightmare voice. There were actually quite a few more taunts in the package, but the game only allows a mere maximum of 48. Pish and tosh! Honestly. Anyway, as this isn't actually my voicepack, so you can go ahead and include it with any custom model/skin or whatever without my permission. Just try and resist the *immense* temptation of trying to make vast millions of profit from the voicepack, eh? It Would Be Bad, as Egon would say.
There's also a couple of other voicepack artefacts waiting for me or some other talented/bored individual to unlock, so stay tuned. From what I've heard thus far, they sound somewhat better than this one.

Bugs/Troubleshooting:
-Some people are unable to join servers after installing voicepacks. This only happens with a small percentage of people, and presumably it's a bug DrSin needs to work out of the UT2004 cheat protection (meaning it should be fixed soon), but if it happens, simply remove the .u and .int from your system directory. Doesn't matter where you put them, you might want to try putting em back after the next UT2004 patch comes out.
-If you have any other problems, you know who to call. Goathumpers. I mean, Ghostbusters. Er, I mean me. But don't call me, email me instead. Thankage.

Chyars go to:
-http://members.rogers.com/fraggin_phun/UT2003_VoicePacks.html, an amazing tutorial that inspired me to try making a Xan voicepack about a year ago... I got to the very last part, but couldn't be bothered to release it. What a lazy sod I am. Two people have seperately released Xan voicepacks for UT04 already, but as mine included the Cuss Pack, I'd say the best is yet to come :P.
-The various tutorials that got me into voicepacks in the original UT... not that any of them actually worked, mind you.
-RaineCloud from http://voiceshrine.beyondunreal.com/newsite/main.htm for figuring out the exact method for getting rid of the infamous Voicepack Volume Bug; I'd been fiddling around for ages trying to figure out exactly which option made the pack sound right. Thanks duder.
-Whoever actually made these taunts. Send me a mail and I'll give you full credit somewhere- totally kickass voice-acting hyar.
-Epic, DE and everyone else who brought the best FPS series ever to life (that would be Unreal, for any of you uncultured hicks who haven't yet been informed of this). You kickass, y'guys! But could you please up the damage on the dual Assault Rifles? Chyars. ;D
-Oh, and Kibi, my diminutive brown cat. She smells, but she rocks. Yes.

Okay, enough talk, I've spent the ENTIRE AFTERNOON away from UT2004 so methinks it's time to slap some newbies with my shieldgun. Ho ho ho.
