Author's Notes

I really liked playing Gareth 'Ulukai' Spring's CTF map Siberian Warfare for the original Unreal Tournament with various mods (Infiltration, C4 Covert Forces, AgentX etc.).  I wanted to play it in my YARM mod, so I recreated it for UT2k4.  I made my own higher resolution versions of some of UT's RainFX.utx texture files in JASC Paintshop Pro, and made a few new static meshes for the lights, lifts, canyon walls, and cargo crates (some of these I'd previously made for my UT2k4 version of CTF-High).  Other textures (the cliffs) I just ported over from UT99.  The map scale is specifically suited for my YARM mod, which means it is a tad small for normal UT2k4 play.


All credit for the map idea, and design layout goes to Ulukai.

I recreated the canyon using terrain and static meshes (built in Milkshape3D) for the cliffs.  I recreated the brushes in UEd3.  The layout is close, but not an exact copy (some added hallways & stairs).  I copied the approximate scale, but made the canyon slightly larger.  It may end up feeling a tad too small for vanilla UT2k4 play.

I've hidden two UT logo meshes in the map (try to find them!)

Please note that I did NOT do a very nice "trim" job etc (i.e. many doorways don't have any trim); this map really only has a bare minimum amount of 'polish'.  My time these days is very, very limited.
