Extended description:
--------------------
This map was made 100% to scale of the original which was a big pain in the butt
to do yielding some bizarre wall, floor and ceiling numbers like 213x37, 439x167,
etc. That's all fine, but texturing these wild shapes took me to a new level of
UV mapping! I pulled old Q1 and CTF textures out and redid most of them from the
old 64x64, 256 color pallete to 256x256 or 512x512 TGA (16 million color) files
one at a time. My aim was to keep most of the old ambiance of the original as
close as possible, however there was a part of me that pimped this puppy out to
UT2003 style in different areas (I couldn't resist). I strived to keep that in
ballance as I have strayed away from the theme few times during construction and
would have to pull back the reins to get back on course again. Some of the original
Q1 textures were simply aweful to redo or rather repeat since some textures didn't
make sense to a theme whatsoever, so I compromised in some areas to attempt to pull
somewhat of theme to the map (mixing Gothic and Tech together means someone musta
been toke'n some premium gold =o)

Author's Notes
--------------
I don't think when Dale "Midiguy" Bertheola made this map for Quake CTF
back in 1997, that he knew the impact it would have in CTF gaming for Threewave
CTF and ThunderWakler CTF. CTF2M3, better known as "Spill the Blood" became
the most demanding map to play in scrims, matches and especially in tournaments.
Clans over the years have written specific strategies how to attack and defend
it's layout and all came to the conclusion: whoever owns Quad Damage, owns the
map... in this case, it's Double Damage =o) I remember distinctly when the map
would countdown to begin "3-2-1" and both offense teams would scramble like mad
men to first nab the precious purple symbol of power.. some falling to their
death in the lava below.. and especially my fearing the incoming attack with
the power it possesed. OMG... Those were some wild times! I dedicate this map
to the Old School Players of Q1 CTF.

Please enjoy =o)
